- How safe are bush plane flights in Tanzania?
- Very safe. Tanzania's bush aviation operators maintain strict international safety standards. Aircraft are regularly inspected, pilots are highly experienced with thousands of bush-landing hours, and routes are well-established. The Civil Aviation Authority of Tanzania oversees all charter operations.
- What type of aircraft are used?
- Most fly-in safaris use Cessna Caravans (12-seat turboprops) or Cessna 206s (4-6 seats). These are purpose-built for short bush runways and offer excellent low-altitude visibility for aerial game viewing.
- What is the luggage allowance?
- Bush planes typically allow 15kg (33 lbs) per person in soft-sided bags — no hard-shell suitcases. Most camps provide laundry service, so you can pack light. We provide a detailed packing list with every booking.
- Can I combine a fly-in safari with a Zanzibar beach stay?
- Absolutely — this is our specialty. Most guests fly from Zanzibar to a safari park, spend 3-4 days in the bush, then fly back to the coast for a beach extension. We handle all transfers seamlessly.
- What's the best time of year for a fly-in safari?
- June to October offers dry season game viewing at its best across all parks. The Great Migration in the Serengeti peaks July–September. The green season (November–March) has fewer crowds, lower prices, and dramatic skies — perfect for photography.
- How far in advance should I book?
- For peak season (July–October), we recommend booking 6-12 months ahead. Remote fly-in camps have limited capacity — often just 8-16 guests — and popular dates sell out quickly. Shoulder season offers more flexibility.
